The restaurant was founded in 1999 in San Salvo Marina from the passion of Antonio and Nicola Fossaceca and still retains the name of the family bakery, founded by his father forty years ago after leaving Rome and his work to underground excavations. Today the Metro is renowned throughout Italy for its typical fish cuisine and has a place of honor in many food and wine publications including the Michelin guide, which in 2013 awarded one star to the restaurant.
